K.V. Narayanaswamy and M. Chandrasekaran perform two pieces from a concert at the Krishna Gana Sabha from August of 1980, respectively, Ini Oru Kannam in Sri Ranjani and Thayee Yeshoda in Thodi.  In both songs, Sri. Raghu shines, not as a soloist, but as the perfect vehicle upon which to ride and enjoy this slow tempo.

This section presents Sri. Raghu's incredible artistry in particular to his understanding of viloma or slow tempo. Sri. Raghu in these selections also presents an alternate, yet equally important percussive dialogue for the listener; a dialogue not jaded with the general percussive practice of over zealous speed, unecessary amplification or any other unfortunate trends, instead, Sri. Raghu's mridangam cajoles the slow tempo, in a therapeautic way for the common listener. But, the connoisseur is equally satisfied through the ingenius variety of ideas for the viloma kritis, and as a result Sri. Raghu achieves a wonderful aesthetic marriage between what predicates the tempo and what the tempo requires.

The following selections are: Mohana Mayee sung by the legendary Sri. M.D. Ramanathan with Sri. Chalakudy Narayanaswamy at the Navratri Mandapam in 1979. One will immediately notice the grace of the song at this tempo.
